Sunday, August 2nd, from 12pm to 6pm is our next Trail Care day for the Ohana Trail completion project.
Good news, for Sunday’s trail day, the developer of the Olomana Heights subdivision is allowing us to park there, you can enter on the driveway on Old Kalanianaole Road, go up the main road, then park along the curb on the upper road, walk across the dirt lots toward Waimanalo and you can cut right into the blue ribbon trail.
Volunteers are needed for finishing work on the freshly built trail sections, but can also just do some cleaning and raking on the already built section to bring it back up to standards.
What to bring:
Water, safety glasses, closed toe shoes, (preferably) long pants, work gloves, any tools you like to use (especially loppers and small cutting tools like handsaws etc), a signed waiver.
Where to go: just walk up the white fence trail and follow it to big tree, then follow the small fire road until it meets up with the existing new trail, you should be heading toward the peaks of Olomana, with the new development on your right side. Keep heading up the trail until you run into a work crew or all the way to the new section that will be marked with a yellow sign. If you are unfamiliar with the white fence trail, it is right at the junction of Old Kalanianaole Hwy, and the Current Kalanianaole Hwy on the Waimanalo side. You can call me (Leland) at 808-224-6745 if you need more instructions or help.
